PJ Harvey – A Dog Called Money Film
TONIGHT, December 7 at 8pm EST / 5pm PST
$12
A uniquely intimate journey through the inspiration, writing and recording of a PJ Harvey record. PJ Harvey and photographer/director Seamus Murphy travelled through Afghanistan, Kosovo and Washington DC before landing back in London to record parts f the record in an unprecedented and experimental way – with the public watching.
PJ Harvey is one of the most respected alt-rock songwriters to emerge from the 1990’s. Born in Bridgport, Dorset in England, Harvey learned the guitar as a child and then saxophone on her way to becoming an accomplished multi-intrumentalist. Her songs are carnal and varied but always seem to hold some mooring to her alt-rock core. Harvey once told Rolling Stone, “when I’m working on a new record, the most important thing is to not repeat myself … that’s always my aim: to try and cover new ground and really to challenge myself. Because I’m in this for learning.”
The show starts at 8:00 PM EST at Abromorama’s website.
