The Jukebox Saloon… in this case… is just a Kentucky dude living in Idaho who loves tunes and REALLY likes to share them. I am John McMillen and I host two radio shows on WKMS in Murray, KY. Music From The Front Porch is an acoustic/bluegrass/country/folk/roots show that I have hosted since 1996. The Jive House is a funk and soul show that I have co-hosted since 2013. Before, in-between and after I also play music mostly on my 1970 Martin HD28. I did just buy a cheap banjo so… lookout!
What I share here will be my own thoughts and reflective of no other. In no way should you think I am a pro at this nor do I think of myself as one either. I just like sharing good tunes and I do like cocktails so expect to find both among other ramblings I might have.
The blog name is from John Prine’s “Great Compromise” from the 1972 release Diamonds In The Rough.
The header photo is a picture I snapped of the sign outside The Torch Club in Sacramento. I like cool old signs. The jukebox photo in the icon is one that I snapped in the dark at Earnestine and Hazel’s in Memphis, TN.
Thanks for dropping by.
