This is the first time that Blue Note has chosen a new release to adorn the Tone Poet logo. Tone Poet treatment or not, this isn’t garnering any awards. It’s not a bad record and I am glad I purchased it but its shining moments are sparse and, usually originate from Bill Frissell’s guitar. It still puzzles me that this would be the choice for the very firstTone Poet treatment for a new project. Not a bad addition to your collection but I’d look for a used version at a discounted price.
